Each month CGs elect from the rank of their peers the individual they feel most represents the best qualities of an FC Volunteer. This prestigious award is the highest honor that is given to a Volunteer of FC. It represents countless hours of selfless work for others. The recipients of this award are models for all volunteers and the backbone and heart of FortuneCity.
August's Story and winner:
It was a hot month in the city. Expectation was running high on what the new city design would be like and if FC would incorporate ideas from the volunteer and resident test panel. An all out effort in July to spruce up centers, coordinate message boards and to get the word out, had left most too exhausted to do anything but shmooze the message boards and banter.
When notices were sent for all to gather for the Content Guide of the Month Announcement, the residents and volunteers started to perk up and plan for the event. It had been decided that since Going Places and Nature both needed more exposure for residents to know where they were that the party for everyone would be held in the Nature Center's central park and that the Going Places Center would provide all the transportation and extra hotel rooms needed for the weekend bash (The TV Centers provided a free live cable show with 24 hour coverage of the event). Mean while the communities surrounding the park pitched in. The local Movie Centers ran extra show times for people, some were special Animation Center productions.
At the park were ongoing entertainments and events that kept everyone amused and laughing. Presty organized an improv comic stage. SimUK provided great games while Fonzomundo and Penguin organized an amazing battle of the band concert. Savannah had created great signs everywhere so people knew what to do and where to go while Thrakman gave entertaining speeches about the history FC.
It was nice to hang out and relax with residents and volunteers. Zonker's and Fergus bantered while Lady Kythera Ann and Elizabeth did tarot card readings. It had been decided to make the event a pot luck so everyone had put food on the long tables and delicacies from arround the world could be tested...of course there was much cheese from Gizzard and beer from Say_Ten as well.
In the evening everyone gathered around a large campfire and sang songs. The day had been long and fun but most were tired while feeling great comradery and affection for each other. All looked forward to tommorrows events.
Although the announcement of CGM was scheduled for tomorrow...Lady Kythera Ann decided the mood was so mellow that now would be the time to tell. So with twinkling stars and the fire casting a glow on all the faces she had come to love so dearly, she floated above the fire and took her wand and sprinkled some of her famous sparkles on the fire.
The flames started to change color...the voices from a choir of angels could be heard...and then within the flames could be seen a name....
